Les: Is that your original drawing of the mouse?
Robb: Yeah. I'm going to show you how it developed. I started out just trying to come up with some stuff that was appropriate for The Monocles and I'd just sit around and sketch.

This is a card that Jon Floth's sister sketched one day just goofing around.

Here is Ratte Finque after shave lotion. There's a mouse leaning on a cane (on the bottle) and there's Mr. Peanut. So I took the top hat and the monocle, and the rat from rat fink, combined them all to make the mouse on the cane with the top hat and the monocle in its eye. That's how the logo got discovered. Then we made cards up.

This is the actual logo that I drew. There's the mouse leaning on the cane. I ran out of cardboard over here (laughs) but he had the monocle in his eye and the top hat on, wearing the tail jacket.

We used to buy these things from the novelty stores by the gross and pass them out at dances. We went through a period there where we even wore tails.
